your choice of title is interesting. I would have considered this observation a salient warning about the WRITING of papers :)

Attack of the killer zombie abstracts? But PCs aren't foolproof either...

Are we starting the conference debate again. A potential solution is to slow down the process -- the longer a paper is "out of circulation" the more incentive there is to put it in at the right level in the first place, the longe r there is to do a proper evaluation.
