• IPAM allures: There is a set of tutorials on Math of Search Engines (Sept 11-20): Petros Drineas, Mark Tygert and Per-Gunnar Martinsson will lecture on linear algebraic algorithms (randomized, approximations). Expanders and graph cuts in Feb.
• 921**, 941** and other stars: CA beckons in many ways. CA in Jan '08, I mean. Besides SODA at San Francisco (Jan 20--22, 941**), we have the Joint Math Meeting in San Diego (Jan 6--9, 921**) with Avi Wigderson giving the Gibbs lecture, and Fan Chung and Terence Tao giving the Joint AMS-MAA Invited Addresses.
  
• SODA unparsed: The list of SODA 08 accepted papers can be found on Shang-Hua's homepage. I barely had time to parse, select papers in streaming/auctions/compressed sensing and nod.
