How could I have left out pluots, O Anonymous! Plout = Plum+Apricot, a hybrid not to be confused with the plumcot.It is a trademark of Zaiger Genetics, Modesto, California. So is the nearly-unknown Aprium which is closer to Apricot (just as Pluots are closer to Plums?).

While not a mix, fruit talk should eventually meander through the funky mangosteens with different takes.
